FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW : CLOTH AND HEELS

My kitty fabric arrived! Now, let's see what will come of it.
The biggest question is of course when.

For the moment I'm however working on this, a little thing I need to have ready soon. It's a bit stressful as I haven't really been home properly in two weeks and won't be home much this weekend either. (And no, no pattern papers for me, I usually draw straight on the fabric but in this case I went all hi-fi and use baking paper...)

I'm waiting for the time when one is able to be outside in other than winter boots! And yes, things are melting, but no, rubber boots don't count!

I want my heels. On dry ground. Now. Like these new very sinful red ones.

Oh, not to forget; the Helsinki Vintage give away!
As much as I like to do give aways I always feel a bit bad at this part not being able to let everybody win... But well, that's the way it is. And this time the lucky one who will get the two tickets was Pirita!

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW

(Or, to be precise, four things earlier today. I'm in the harbour right now.)

I like to give myself a little extra bit of weekend; take another Sunday morning those Mondays that I'm going to the evening shift. And so I did today - made a grat breakfast (soured whole milk (viili) and blue berries are such a good combination that right now I can't think of anything better!), took it easy, resulting in having to rush and stress like crazy later on in order to get done what needed to be done before work. Sigh.

The more the better - I burlesqified these heels for our new routine. And four more pairs. (It was fun the first two-and-a-half-pairs, the rest more painful. But, still more to come; more to be done!)

One of Kerttu's photos, with us Itty-Bitties swimming, is on the cover of 6degress. The article is about burlesque and the upcoming festival.

Meanwhile, the dog is smoking in the blue room.

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW : LIGHTS OF THE SEASON.

I'm not much of a Christmas decorator, mostlyk I just go for the star in the window (typical up here). Which I haven't put up yet btw. But this year, as I have a bigger flat, I've done a little more, although not that typical for the holidays anyway. I've just put up some more lights, lights that can stay after Christmas too. Well the last three at least.

Everyone has one of these in the windows over here.

I use my small mariskoolis (I have a lot of them in different colours and sizes) for candles. I like the lace-like shadows they give.

I out up some lanterns in the window of the kids' room.

I go 'Oh!'everytime I look at our bedroom window.

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW

(Or, actually, Four Things Friday. But time wasn't enough to post then)

I want to get our balcony to resemble something of a Mexican bar, Christmas season or not (meaning the lights will most likely stay all-year round). Might have to change these though into som other kind of lights, as there is too much chord and too few lights in order for the lamps to hang nicely.

I went to the post office to pick up some Vivien of Holloway goodies! One of the items came in the wrong colour though, and I was too f.. curvy for another so I'll have to return those and wait - I hate waiting- for the right ones to arrive. Gnah. Perhaps I go to the post office too otfen btw; one of the workers handed my parcel over to the desk clerk as soon as she saw me, before I had even opened my mouth.

Exciting; received my first letter from the little boy I sponsor in India! You know, I do put my money on other things than clothes and home decor too. But they do not get to show here that much...

Rolled my hair into faux bangs (before going to perfprm at the shittiest show of the year). Haven't had my hair like this forever! And yes, I know a lot have been asking for more hair tutorials - let's see what I can come up with :)

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW

The smartest shopping I did this autumn was two lined A-line skirts form Zara, the same skirt but in different colours. I've been wearing them all the time.

I found some coasters in Stockholm, matching the patterns and colours of our living room.

Since the renovation and move I have paid surprisingly many visits to Etola, where I haven't set my foot since mom was there bying plastic baskets, jars and such in the eighties. They are still all about plastic baskets and practical things for home, but they also have a lot of surprising and cute items nowadays! I got these small boxes for my sewing parnaphelia.

You can read an interview with us Itty-Bitties in the latest issue of Kotilääkäri :)

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW (+ ONE FIFTH THING)

Pretty carnations against my soft pink kitchen walls.

Bread with butter and a whole lot of garlic plus apples from the farm. Life is too short and baked goods too great to ever even consider giving up carbs (which are healthy btw), bah!

The high heeled vintage brogues I mentioned earlier. Another case of The Lazy Thrifter Get's Lucky; they were brought to me, didn't have to lift a finger.

Wall paper from PiP Studio that will soon be on a door here at home!

+ that fitfh little extra thingie; the Playful Promises give-away has ended and the lucky winner was Maarikki!
however, the rest of you still have a chance to buy your favorite Playful Promises items (and anything else on the site too of course) with a discount of 20%, as the discount is extended until Friday October 1st! So hurry up! Use the code fashion.

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW

Making fruit salad for brekfast. It strange to think this little papaya grew across the world and ended up in my kitchen. (Hello ecological footprint!)

Fruit and cottage cheese salad done!

Those who virtually hang out with me on Facebook know I was searching for yellow gingham for my kitchen, which seemed impossible to find over here. But then I stumbled across some on Anttila, phew! (and thanks for the tips for my flowers, they are doing better now :)

The post office sold these cardboard Moomin prints with metal corners. These pictures and the books they are from reminds me of my childhood... I love them, but have no idea yet of where to place them so they could be admired.

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW (OF WHICH ONE OF THEM IS THE WINNER!)

Parmesan-walnut-lemon pasta helping us recover from the wedding last night. Should've made more...

Finally got the closet emptied of stuff (my grandfather's books and a whole lot more undefined stuff), washed and painted to be ready to filled with my stuff! Burlesque stuff mostly. Our living room is grateful to stop serving as a storage room.

My pelargoniums are dying. I don't know why. They are in a sunny place and get enough water. Any hints how to recover them anyone?

Last but not least, Miss Fortuna drew a winner of the Tyra Therman mermaid brooch and the lucky one is Paula!

FOUR THINGS RIGHT NOW

(...apart from the fact that right now I'm actually blogging...)

Sunshine outside and the only rose that survived the cats' attack last night. (They are not exactly small angels, not when it comes to flowers and plants at least.)

Breakfast by the window. (At 13:30, yes. When doing the late shifts at the harbour breakfast is not before noon :)

Reading Danny Wattin ('Pardon me, but your soul just died').

The postman bought me something nice this morning! Quite fast shipping I must say. (And you all had very good guesses but this one was the one I chose, the From The Cross Jewelry locket :)It has a beautiful shine to it that won't show on the picture as it is even prettier in real life.
